Big Wave Bay Beach

Big Wave Bay beach is located at Shek O on the eastern part of the Hong Kong Island. The beach is distant from the city center and frequently visited by surfers mainly throughout the winter season when the beach experiences stronger waves. Big Wave Bay beach is a popular destination for hikers and can easily be reached via the Pottingger Peak Trail. There is an ancient rock carving next to the barbecue site. The beach receives a ‘Fair’ annual water quality ranking in 2014.
