Shek O Beach
Shek O beach is located at the eastern part of the Hong Kong Island, and is very close to the Rocky Bay beach which has to be closed since 1988. Shek O beach is distant from the city center, and it takes about 25 minutes to reach the beach by bus or mini-bus from Shau Kei Wan MTR station. With natural scenery, Shek O beach and the neighboring barbecue site are well attended by visitors. In 2014, Shek O beach is the second popular beach among the gazetted beach, with over 1 million visitors. Since 2002, Shek O beach has maintained a ‘Good’ annual water quality ranking.
