Clear Water Bay Second Beach

EPD's annual water quality ranking in 2014 Good
Primary pollution mode Multiple sources
Major factor determining beach water quality Rainfall

Without extensive anthropogenic activities at the hinterland of the beach, this well-attended bathing site usually enjoys good water quality, like other beaches in the same district. Although there is a small secondary sewage treatment plant (the Clear Water Bay 2nd beach sewage treatment plant), it appears not affecting the beach water quality seriously. The water quality is slightly deteriorated during the rainy season; a strong positive correlation can be found between rainfall and beach water quality.
