Fish Culture Zone Description
Leung Shuen Wan (LSW) Fish Culture Zone is located in the High Island. This island is one of the site in Hong Kong Geoparks established in 2009. The Geopark is featured with rare acidic polygonal volcanic rocks in hexagonal columns.
In 1971, the High Island Reservoir has been constructed nearby the Leung Shuen Wan Fish Culture Zone. This reservoir is the largest reservoir in Hong Kong. It was established over ten years with a storage capacity of 280 million cubic metres and was curved out of the sea by damming the two ends of narrow channel between the High Island and mainland peninsula of Sai Kung.
